YPCV Spotlight - Samantha Citty

Name: Samantha Citty

Company/Organization: Liberty University

Job Title: Director of Quality

How long have you been in Lynchburg? Nine out of the last 14 years.

Tell us about your professional role:

"This call may be monitored for quality assurance." Do you ever think that message is played at the beginning of the call just for the sake of it? Well, there's actually people monitoring those calls and I'm one of them! I oversee call quality for our call center at Liberty University Online. I also lead weekly trainings for our supervisors on best coaching and call monitoring practices. I love leading and working with people from a variety of skill levels, and seeing them grow through the process.

What do you enjoy in your spare time? I enjoy volunteering in my spare time, and serve on the board of directors for The Listening and Junior League of Lynchburg. My husband is a social studies teacher at Heritage High School, and we have two children in preschool and elementary school. You'll see us at the community market on most Saturday mornings, or at any of our local parks on a warm day.

Who or what inspires you? I'm inspired by strong women who've overcome adversity in their life. My mom is a primary example of this; she raised four children on her own while working 50+ hours a week. She's earned her counseling degree through it all and is currently a LPC in North Carolina.

What's something about not many people know? I wanted to be a band director when I was in high school, and I'm a pretty mean clarinet player! My undergraduate degree is in music and I have a deep appreciate for just about any genre of music (especially jazz).

Why did you join YPCV? When my family came back to Lynchburg in 2018, I wanted to get plugged into the community and develop my networking skills. I've enjoyed the events I've attended so far and I look forward to the ones coming up soon!
